21세기 항공운송의 한 축을 담당할 민간 및 군수분야의 헬리콥터 전문 인력을 양성하는 학과로서 설계, 운항 및 정비 등에 관련한 기초 이론을 연구, 교수하고 헬리콥터와 모의비행장치 등을 이용한 체계적인조종 실기교육과 항공관련 산업체를 연계한 실무교육훈련을 통하려 국가발전에 기여할 수 있는 우수한 인재를 양성한다.
Educational goals
- Training professional helicopter pilots through training and equipment operation procedures required for missions required by military and civil aviation
- Training helicopter pilots equipped with helicopter design, maintenance and operation capabilities
- When you complete all courses in the department, you will basically acquire a self-propelled pilot certificate and lay the foundation for acquiring a business pilot certificate and instrument flight certificate.

Career information after Graduation
- Upon graduation, pilots of national and civilian helicopters and Korean helicopters based on the basic education that allows them to advance as a helicopter pilot in the army, navy, and air force or to a helicopter-related institution or acquire a private helicopter pilot qualification acquired while attending school, and an instrument and business pilot qualification in the future. It is possible to advance into aerospace-related research institutes, government officials, and corporations that require specialized personnel.
