Department Introduction

• Our Department of Health Counseling and Welfare is the only department in Korea with a multidisciplinary characteristic that pursues convergence between welfare, childcare, and health, which are important issues directly related to the quality of human life. It can address various social problems and needs of the modern society, and respond to the demand for increasing the demand for health welfare and strengthening the quality of childcare in the age of 100 through the convergence of welfare, childcare, and health care, which are important issues especially in the age of low birthrates. This department aims to cultivate experts in integrated welfare, childcare, and health care with practical expertise.
  
  This department aims to acquire three professional certifications: a social worker who will realize a welfare society and improve the quality of life, a childcare teacher who will help children develop healthy, and an industrial hygiene manager who will be responsible for the health improvement of workers and the hygienic environment of the production site. To. In addition, in connection with the general elective course, we are operating a lifelong education teacher certification course that will lead the lifelong learning society.
  
  The future society needs convergent thinking that allows you to demonstrate in-depth expertise in your field and at the same time learn and communicate with other related fields. In that sense, we are proud of our Health Counseling and Welfare Department as an alternative to the future, aiming at the convergence and communication between the three areas aiming for independent expertise while having relevance to welfare, childcare and health.

Career after graduation

• Welfare and lifelong education field: general social welfare center, general welfare center for the elderly, welfare center for the disabled, volunteer center, self-support center, youth training center, etc. You can get a job as a social worker and life instructor in welfare facilities such as facilities and single-mother and child living facilities. In addition, you can work as a social welfare expert in public sectors such as public officials in charge of social welfare, Health Insurance Corporation, Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, and National Pension Service, and civic groups, relief organizations, fundraising organizations, social welfare corporations, and various social welfare functions. You can also work as a social welfare professional in the private sector, such as organizations and corporate social contribution departments. In addition, as a lifelong educator, you can get a job at the municipal office of education, lifelong learning centers, and public lifelong learning facilities.
• Child-care field: You can work as a child-care teacher in various child-care facilities such as national and public child-care facilities, corporate child-care facilities, private child-care facilities, workplace child-care facilities, family child-care facilities, and parental cooperative child-care facilities. You can also establish and operate a daycare center yourself, or work as an elementary school care teacher, child welfare institution, and local children's center.
• Health care field: You can work as an industrial hygiene manager at more than 150 university hospitals and occupational health specialists (work environment measurement) nationwide, and you can perform professional work as a health manager at work-places nationwide (more than 50 regular workers). In addition, it is possible to advance into public officials of related institutions such as the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Safety and Health Agency, and to enter graduate school with Korea Occupational Health Association and Korea Occupational Safety Association.
